Collaborators: The BCWK Team
Creating a values-based brand for water protectors redefining their approach
The goal
BCWK is an organization with over two decades of history protecting the Lower Galveston Bay water shed. The organization was in a period of change with a new Executive Director on board, clarifying the focus of organization and how would advocate for better water quality. A new values-based brand was central to publicly communicating this fresh energy in the organization’s direction.
Approach
I led the process by conducting a series of workshops and listening sessions with the staff and board to clearly define the values BCWK was prioritizing going forward. This set of core values drove all of the work creating a full brand.
Impact
The new brand has communicated the boldness and focus on water justice that has been central to the organizations’s work for the past few years. Multiple campaigns have been undertaken to protect wetlands and communities living with constant sewage overflows, with campaign branding that fits within the tone and visual style of set forth by this project.
